The fall membership meeting of the Central of Georgia Railway Historical Society, Inc., was held Friday–Sunday, October 11–13, 2013, in Savannah, Ga.

On Friday afternoon, we visited the Georgia Historical Society in downtown Savannah to see part of their large archival collection of CofGa materials.

On Saturday, we visited the former Central of Georgia hospital building in Savannah. We then arrived at the Georgia State Railroad Museum for a ride on their steam-powered train.

After lunch, we went to see the former Savannah & Atlanta depot from Blandford, Ga., recently moved to the Effingham County Museum & Living History Site in Springfield.

CGRHS President Allen Tuten gave a presentation on the history of the Central of Georgia Railway at our Saturday night meeting.

On Sunday, we held a work session on the Society’s 1925 flat car at the Georgia State Railroad Museum.
