The Spring meeting of the Central of Georgia Railway Historical Society, scheduled for May 23, 2026, in Leeds, Ala., has been canceled due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict.
The meeting was announced in the most recent issue of The Right Way, and was to feature a presentation on a new book titled The Ghosts of an Empire: The History of the Alabama Fuel and Iron Company in St. Clair County, a slide presentation on the CofGa in the Birmingham area, and a brief “field trip” to visit mine-related sites in the Acmar area.
We hope to be able to reschedule this event for sometime in the Fall.
